Funeral services for Leonard B. Richter, 74, 17 4th St. SE, who died June 13 a Watertown hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Rodney Farke will officiate.
Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Rueschenberg, Wayne Jankord, William Linder and Vernon, Roger D. and Harold Mack.
Visitation will be in the Wight and Fox Funeral Chapel Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a wake at 7 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Relatives are requested to meet in the funeral chapel by 9:15 a.m. Friday for a family rosary service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.
Mr. Richter was born Oct 3. 1913, near Kranzburg to Albert and Margaret (Eilen) Richter. He attended school at Kranzburg and attended vocational school classes in welding and business administration at Sioux City, Iowa. He moved to Berkeley, Calif.. and was employed as a welder in the Richmond ship yards.
He married Margaret Linder May 7, 1942 at Oakland, Calif. The couple moved to Watertown, where Mr. Lindner was employed by Watertown Community Oil Co. 10 years and then managed the Sioux Valley Cooperative for 22 years. He retired 1976.
He we a member of the Downtown Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Elks, and the Sioux Valley Credit Union Board.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Leonard A. of St. Cloud, Minn., and John of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mary Ellen Richter of Lisle, Ill., and Mrs. Mickey (Ann) Rising of Huntsville, Ala.; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Loretta) Tribitt Clear Lake, Mrs. Lavina Strohfus of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Ray (Ethel) Zirbes of Castlewood and Mrs. Laverne (Helen) Rueschenberg of Watertown; and five grandchildren.
