Al F. Richter, 59, 113 11th St. NE, died May 23 in a Watertown hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Jerry Kopel officiating.
Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery at Kranzburg with military rite by the John H. Larson Post 6361 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Goodwin.
Pallbearers will be nephews - Leonard A. Richter, Roger Jankord, Loren Mack, Kenneth Strohfus, Pat Rueschenberg and Harold Tribitt.
Visitations will be in the Wight Fox Funeral Chapel today (Monday) until 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a scripture wake service at 7:30 tonight in the funeral chapel.
Relative are requested to meet at the funeral chapel at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday to attend the services.
Mr. Richter was born Dec. 6, 1921, at Kranzburg to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Richter. He attended elementary school at Kranzburg and farmed with his parents until entering the U. S. Army during World War II.
After his army service, he returned to the Kranzburg area and farmed until 1962, when he moved to Watertown. He was employed by the Coast to Coast Store for 12 years, the Montgomery Wards Store for four years after which he worked for the Sioux Valley Cooperative.
He married Ila Helle Sept 29, 1979, at Watertown.
He was a member the John H. Larson V. F. W. Post 6361 of Goodwin and Olson-Reid American Legion Post 250 of Castlewood.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Michael and Patrick Helle of Watertown; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jean Wagner of Brookings; six sisters, Mrs. Ed (Loretta) Tribitt of Altamont, Sister Dolorita Richter of Sacred Heart Convent of Yankton, Mrs. Lavina Strohfus of Burnsville, Minn., Mrs. James (Alma) Mack and Mrs. Ray (Ethel) Zirbes of Castlewood and Mrs. LaVerne (Helen) Rueschenberg of Watertown; and one brother, Leonard of Watertown.
