CASTLEWOOD
James J. Mack, 79, Watertown, formerly of Castlewood, died Friday, Jan 21, 2000, at a Watertown care center.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church in Castlewood with the Rev. Richard Baumberger officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood with a 7 p.m. Scripture service.
James Mack was born Oct. 5, 1920, the son of Anton and Mary (Haas) Mack at Castlewood. He grew up in that area and attended rural Hamlin County Schools through the eighth grade.
He married Alma Richter Oct. 24, 1944, at Kranzburg. He worked for Fox Turkey Farm and later worked with Lakeview Hatchery until his retirement in 1987. Mrs. Mack died in Jun 1986. He entered the Prairie Lakes Care Center in Watertown in 1995.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Castlewood. He enjoyed fishing and baseball.
Survivors include nine sons and seven daughters-in-law, Ronald and Marilee of Caney, Kan., LeRoy and Christine of Bloomington, Ind., Robert and Jeanette of Watertown, Howard of Castlewood, Vernon of Kearney, Neb., Loren and Tammy of Castlewood, Harold and Shirley and Roger and Michelle all of Watertown, and Gene and Cindy of Kearney, Neb., a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Young of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Eleanor of Castlewood and Harry and Edna of Goodwin; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Richard Hulscher of Goodwin and Marie and Jerome Mack of Kranzburg.
