HOELZ, MRS. DOROTHY
A resident of this city the past half century, Mrs. Dorothy Hoelz, 87, died here Friday, June 9, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hoelz was the former Dorothy Elbert and was born in New Munster March 26, 1884. It was there she was married to John Hoelz and near the turn of the century she came to Burlington to lie. Her husband preceded her in death. Shortly after coming here Mrs. Hoelz was active in forming the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters of Burlington and was a charter member of the organization.
Funeral services were held at the McCarthy Funeral home and at St. Charles Catholic church at 9 a.m. Monday with the pastor, Rev. Henry Langenfeld officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Hoelz are three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Lewis, Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. Harold Bechtel and Mrs. Marge Kent, Bridgeport, Conn.; and three sons William, Waukegan, Ill., Leo, Kenosha and Joseph, Milwaukee and six grandchildren.
