Mrs. Henry Kerkman Dies at Farm Home Near New Munster
Mrs. Henry Kerkman died early Monday morning at her farm home near New Munster. Mrs. Kerkman, whose maiden name was Magdalena Elbert, was born March 27, 1874 on the farm where she died. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elbert.
Her marriage to Henry Kerkman took place Oct. 6, 1891 at New Munster, the ceremony having been performed by Rev. Henry Dreis. During her entire life Mrs. Kerkman lived near New Munster.
Surviving are her husband, Henry Kerkman, and four children, Mrs. Mary Robers, New Munster, Albert Kerkman, Edwin Kerkman, and Eleanor Kerkman, all of New Munster. She also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Dora Hoelz, Burlington; Mrs. Mary Foster, and Mrs. Elizabeth Lieb, Elgin, and a brother, John Elbert, Elgin, and by two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday in St. Alphonsus church, New Munster. Rev. J. J. Pierron, pastor of St. Alphonsus will, officiate.
