Age 94. Passed away on August 11, 1990, at Clairidge House in Kenosha. Mr. Lenz was born on November 5, 1895, in the Town of Wheatland, to Joseph M. and Elizabeth (Smitz) Lenz. His early life was spent in the Town of Wheatland, and he was educated at Wheatland Township Schools. On September 24, 1919, at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster, he married Dorothy Barbian, and she preceded him in death on December 4, 1984. After their marriage. they lived in the Town of Wheatland, where he was employed as a Building Inspector for 23 years. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatland. Mr. Lenz served in the Armed Forces in France during World War II. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster, the Holy Name Society, and a lifetime member of the Junker-Ball VFW Post No. 1865 in Kenosha.
He is survived by one son, Robert Lenz of Salem, WI; one daughter, Arlene (Phillip) Roanhaus of Salem, WI; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Ruth and Loraine Lenz, both of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ardell; and two brothers, Bill and Frank Lenz.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 1990, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster, with Reverend Robert Massey officiating. Interment will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at the McCarthy-Koenig Funeral Home. Memorials to St. Alphonsus Church have been suggested.
