Couple Married At New Munster
This morning at St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster, Miss Arlene F. Lenz. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wheatland, became the bride of Phillip M. Roanhouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roanhaus, Burlington. Rev. Joseph Michaels performed the ceremony.
The bride, given over in marriage by her father, chose a Dorothy Doll style dress of white ninon, trimmed with "good luck" lace around the yoke and on the ruffles of the skirt. Her three-quarter length imported illusion veil was held in place by a crown of orange blossoms and was edged with matching lace.
Mrs. Robert Lenz, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. She was dressed in blue mousseline de sole fashioned like the bride's gown. She wore matching gauntlets and a picture hat caught With a large bow in the back. She carried white carnations arranged With ribbon leaves.
Bridesmaids were Evelyn Martin, Ruth Lenz, Hellen Roanhaus and Manse May. Their gowns were fashioned like that of the matron of honor but were in pink, green, orchids and yellow. All wore matching gauntlets and hats. Sharon Wilson. cousin of the bride, and her flower girl, was dressed in blue.
Best man was Ralph Roanhaus brother of the bridegroom and groomsmen were Robert Lenz, Marvin Roanhaus, Robert Vos and Ardell Lenz. Ushers were Raymond Toelle and Harold Roanhaus. Soloist was Miss Mary Ann Toelle, who was accompanied by Mrs. Egon Uhen, organist.
A wedding dinner was served at the Hotel Burlington and a reception for 200 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. After returning from a trip through Canada the couple will live with the bride's parents until their new home is completed.
The bridegroom is employed as a laundry superintendent in Burlington and the bride is a teacher at Oak Knoll School in Randall.

Phillip M. Roanhaus
Phillip Mathias Roanhaus, 72, of Wheatland, died Friday (April 21,2000)at Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
Born April 23,1927, in the town of Lyons, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Barbara (Dauben) Roanhaus.
On June 26,1948, he married Arlene F. Lenz at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster.
He worked as a mechanic for the Kenosha County Highway Department for 28 years before retiring in 1989.
He attended Winkler School and St. Mary School in Burlington. He was a member of St. Alphonsus, the Holy Name Society of the church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 0293 in Silver Lake, and the Wheatland Trophy Club. He also was a leader for the Wheatland Willing Workers 4-H Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
A World War II Army veteran, he served with the 4469th quartermaster trucking company and was stationed in Italy from 1945-47.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Daniel of Pleasant Prairie, and Dell Pat and David, both of Burlington; five daughters, Darlene Roanhaus and Dolly Thuemmler, both of Wheatland, Deborah Vos of New Munster, Diane King of Merrill, and Donna Dixon of Burlington; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Lucille Guse, and brothers, Ralph and Marvin.
Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
ROANHAUS - A Mass of Christian Burial for the late Phillip Mathias Roanhaus age 72 of Wheatland will be held on Friday, April 28, at 10:30 AM at St Alphonsus Catholic Church, New Munster with the Rev. Tom Biersack officiating. Interment to follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery at 11:30 AM. Friends may call on Thursday, April 27, 2000 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, WI. Prayer vigil at 7:45 pm. Memorials to the St. Alphonsus Faith and Future Fund would be appreciated. The Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home is serving the Roanhaus Family.
