Gary Leon Barbian, 50, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee on Monday, September 4, 2000. A lifetime resident, he was born in Burlington on August 16, 1950, to Leo and Beatrice (nee: Gandt) Barbian.
On June 3, 1972, at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Nancy L. Richardson. He graduated from Salem Central High School in 1968 and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a Mechanic for Lynch Display Vans in Burlington. He was a member of Southport Baptist Church in Kenosha, a former Little League Coach, and a member of the church softball league. He belong to dart leagues and loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. Barbian; daughters, Pamela (Marcous) Avila, both of Burlington, Penelope (James) Newhouse of Madison, and Laura Barbian; son, Christopher Barbian, both of Burlington; three grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, and Kassandra; brothers, Jerry (Rose) Barbian, James (Barbara) Barbian, Joseph (Teresa) Barbian, and Larry Barbian, all of Burlington; sisters, Judith (Raoul) Newkirk of Rochester, Jean (Kenneth) Sokolowski, Joan (Robert) Westerhold, both of Burlington, Joy (Gregory) Blaha of Kansasville, Jody (Thomas) Regner of Lily Lake, and Jill (Timothy) Lein of Burlington; mother-in-law, Yvonne Richardson of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Judy (Ronnie) Lewis of New York and Debra (Tom) Heyer of Arizona; brother-in-law, Ray (Mar Jean) Richardson Jr. of Burlington; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Ray Richardson Sr.
Funeral services will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2000, at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Johnathan Jameson officiating.
