Edward J. Althoff, 80, 2616 Lincoln Road, died early Wednesday morning (July 4, 1984) at the Sheridan Nursing Home.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Catherine Scherrer) Althoff, he was born May 14, 1904 in New Munster.
He attended schools in New Munster before coming to Kenosha in 1923.
On Sept. 1, 1927, in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, he married Margaret Blank.
He and his father founded Wisconsin Fuel & Heating Inc. in 1923. He had been associated with the firm for 45 years, retiring in 1969.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church and the Eagles Club.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Ronald, Kenosha; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Stein, Taos, N.M.; two brothers, Leon, Belmont, Calif., and John, of Kenosha; a sister, Mrs. Mary Seidemann, also of Kenosha; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
ALTHOFF-Funeral services for the late Mr. Edward J. Althoff of 2616 Lincoln Road, who passed away on July 4th, will be held on Friday, July 6th at 9:30 A.M. from the Bruch Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10.00 A.M. from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. George's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bruch Funeral home after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday (tonight). Prayer service will be at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
