Elmer H. Kersting, 58, Lily Lake, who owned and operated the Lily Lake Nursery, died of a heart attack Sunday evening at his place of business. His body was not discovered until early yesterday evening.
Mr. Kersting had gone to the nursery to get a truck equipped with a snow plow when he was stricken. He was found by his brother-in-law, Earl Smith, who noticed lights in the building were still on as they had been early yesterday morning.
Coroner Edward Wavro and Deps. Richard Schenning, Donald Preston and Gerhard Kubart were at the scene. Kersting had been dead for almost 24 hours.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kersting, he was born in Wheatland Township, Jan. 5, 1905. He received his education in the schools of New Muster and spent his entire lifetime in Wheatland Township.
He was a member of Holy Name Church, Wilmot, and the Holy Name Society of that parish, the New Munster Volunteer Fire Department and the Silver Lake Conservation Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Earl Smith, Lily Lake, and Mrs. Harold Stine, Twin Lakes.
KERSTING--Funeral services for the late Elmer Kersting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Holy Name Church, Wilmot. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the McCarthy-Rueter Funeral Home, Burlington, after 6 p.m. Tuesday and after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary services Wednesday at 8 p.m.
