Lewis Elbert and Miss Gladys Heisig were united in marriage at the Methodist Church in Rock Rapids last Wednesday. Both young people are well known here and are highly respected. They have lived in this vicinity practically all their lives. The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Heisig who reside northwest of Rock Valley. She is a young lady of pleasing manners and many good qualities, and is highly respected by all who know her. The groom is an industrious young farmer and is well known in this vicinity, and is popular with a large number of friends. He is farming what is known as the old Elbert farm northwest of Rock Valley where he and his bride have gone to housekeeping. They have the best wishes of

LOUIS ELBERT
Louis Elbert, 81, of Rock Valley, died May 20 at Valley Manor, Rock Valley.
Services were held May 24 at the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley with The Rev. David Waterman officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Louis Elbert was born October 7, 1898, in Sioux County. He married Gladys Heisig May 5, 1920, in Rock Rapids. They farmed in the Rock Valley and Doon area until retirement, Mrs. Elbert died October 12, 1976.
Survivors include one son, Fred, of Hills; two daughters, Mrs. August (Jean) Klemp of Overland Park, Kansas, and Dorothy Shulenberger of Anaheim. California; one sister, Mrs. Carl (Josephine) Ritland of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
