Married at Canton
Miss Madie P. Frank of this city and Mr. Ollie Elbert of Sioux township were united in
marriage at Canton, S.D., at noon last Saturday, Rev. Cave officiating. The happy couple returned to Hawarden in the afternoon and went to the home of the bride's mother where a reception tendered them and a fine wedding supper served. Mr. and Mrs. R.O. Schaber of Hudson and Mrs. W.B. Martin of Westfield were out-of-town guests at the reception. The bride is the second daughter of Mrs. Stella Frank of this city and is one of Hawarden's most amiable and lovely young ladies. She has grown from childhood here and for several years has been a successful school teacher. It was during her recent years school work in Sioux township that the young couple met-and that settled it for life. The groom is a prosperous farmer of Sioux township. He is a fine young man, popular and progressive. The happy couple will make their home on the groom's splendid farm in Sioux township. The Independent takes great pleasure in extending them congratulations.
