LOIS OVIATT AND DON ELBERT WED
Miss Lois Oviatt of Omaha and Don Elbert of Bremerton, Wash., formerly of Hawarden, were married on Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Methodist church at Papillion, Neb., Rev. C. Wright officiating. They were attended by the bride's sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Myron R. Pierce of Omaha.
Mr. and Mrs. Elbert then went to Bremerton, Wash., to visit with his parents, Mrs. A. J. Elbert. They plan to return to Hawarden this month and will also go to Dickens to visit with her parents. Mr. Elbert expects to join the navy the latter part of this month.
The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Oviatt of Dickens, grew up in that vicinity. She is a graduate of the high school at that place. Recently, she has been employed in a telephone office in Omaha and plans to resume her work there.
The bridegroom grew to young manhood in Hawarden. He attended the local schools and is a graduate of the Hawarden high school. Later he went to Milford, where he took a course in electric drilling and while there he formed the acquaintance of his bride. For the past two years he has worked at his trade in the ship yards at Bremerton, Wash.

Lois M Elbert
Lois M. Elbert, of Texas, formerly of Rochester, WA died Monday November 18, 2013 at Northwest Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Donald A. Elbert, who passed in 1997.
She is survived by her 4 daughters: Karen Angleton of Schertz, TX, Barbara Barnes of Wasilla, AK and Patty Elbert of Portland, OR. 1 son: Keith Elbert of Rochester, WA. Mother of the late 1st Lt. Joe A. Elbert who died in Vietnam in 1968 and Kathleen Nightsky who passed in 2013. Loving grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 9. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday Dec. 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM in Newell Hoerling's Mortaury Chapel. Funeral Service on Sat. Dec. 14, 2013 at 1 PM in Grace Baptist Church, Rochester. Burial in Grand Mound Cemetery following Services.
