Jerome Weis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Weis, Route 1, Burlington, died at 2 p.m. Friday at Burlington Memorial Hospital from injuries received when he was struck by a truck.
The accident happened at 11:30 a.m. at the Weis farm home east of Burlington. Little Jerome, who was 1 year old last May, was playing in a chicken yard. His father and two older brothers, Danny and Roger, were on a truck, just starting to leave the farm yard.
Unknown to anyone Jerome got through the gate and wandered around in front of the truck while it was loaded. So small that he was not noticed, the little boy was run down when his father started to drive away. He was rushed to Burlington Memorial Hospital for treatment. and lived until midafternoon. Death was ascribed to shock and internal injuries.
Funeral arrangements have not announced.
Services Are Held For Year Old Boy, Accident Victim
Rev. Charles G. Myers officiated yesterday at funeral services held in St. Charles Catholic Church for Jerome W. Weis.
Jerome, who was born May 4, 1945, in Burlington, died from injuries suffered when he was struck by a truck at his farm home.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Weis, and two brothers, Danny and Rodger, Route 1, Burlington.
