Clayton F. Weis, age 63, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 following a farm accident. Clayton was born on December 17, 1948 in Burlington, to the late Francis and Lunetta (nee Daniels) Weis. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School.
Clayton owned and operated Weis Brothers Farm with his brother Russell. He was a farmer his entire life, and loved every minute of it. On the side, he worked for Thomas Bus Company. Before buying the farm, he worked for Bob Fox Construction. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Clayton enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling. He loved Catholic Central sports. The most important thing to Clayton was spending time with his children and granddaughter.
He is survived by his children; Kelly (Chad) Ruppel of Chicago, IL, Eric Weis of Denver, CO, Crystal (Mac) Weis-Cook of Portland, OR, and Patrick Weis of Milwaukee, granddaughter, Paige Ruppel, siblings; Dan (Judy) Weis, Roger (Kay) Weis, Russell (Debbie) Weis, LuAnn (Joe) Warren and Margaret (Paul) Daniels, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Clayton leaves behind special friends, Boni Weis and Jeri Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a brother, Jerry Weis.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 6:30 PM at St. Charles Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Mass will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place on Thursday, October 4, at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to St. Charles Catholic Church or to Catholic Central Athletic Association.
