Dorothy "Dottie" Daniels

 

Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Daniels, 92, of Brighton, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha.

Born in Burlington on Feb. 7, 1925, she was the daughter of Chris and Katie (nee Ehlen) Weis. She spent her early life in Brighton and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and Burlington High School.

On Aug. 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Everett William Daniels. Following marriage they made their home on their farm in Brighton where they raised their family. Everett preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2001. Dottie was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Dottie loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, card playing, sewing, reading, and gardening. She was active with the Christian Mothers Altar Society, Kenosha County Home and Community Education, and the Farm Bureau of Kenosha County. During World War II she contributed to the war effort as a defense worker at Nash-Kelvinator.

Dottie is survived by her children, Anita Christensen of Salem, Joseph Daniels of Union Grove, Jeanine Inwood of Milton, Ellen Daniels of Paddock Lake, Myron (Doreen) Daniels of Brighton, Cathy (Ed Brzinski) Daniels of Lake Geneva and Ann (Stephen) Abel of Bristol; 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Rosemary Daniels, along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; her son, Gary Daniels; sons-in-law, Jim Inwood and Lynn Torrey, and siblings, Fred Weis, Nicholas Weis, Alvin Weis, Gilbert Weis, Bernard Weis and Marcella Eppers, and many beloved in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in memory of Dorothy.

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Brookside Care Center for their wonderful care.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dottie will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, July 2nd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
