James Charles 'Jim' Fait Sr., 63, returned Home to the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010. He died unexpectedly, although as he prayed he would die among the horses he loved so much. Jim was born August 15, 1946, the second of nine children of Dr. Lawrence and Marie (nee: Richter) Fait, in Burlington. He graduated from St. Mary's Grade School and St. Mary's High School, class of 1965. Jim also attended Milton College and St. Gregory College in Oklahoma. Jim was united in the Sacrament of Marriage with Judith Pihringer in St. Mary's Church on July 3, 1982. Jim was passionate about horses and enjoyed both fishing and the outdoors. He was also an avid sports fan.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; and his beloved sons, James 'Jr.' and William 'Bill.' He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert (Judy), Reverend Thomas, Kathleen Fait, all of Burlington, Dr. Gary (Connie) Fait of Mequon and JoAnne (Robert) Wasserman of Richfield. Survivors also include his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Marilyn Pihringer of Oconomowoc; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Barbara (Scott) Molitor of Burlington, Jo (R.W. Casper) Hart of Elkhorn, Jacqueline (Dan) Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas, James M. (Denise) Pihringer of Oconomowoc and Robert (Vicki) Pihringer of Hartland; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In sure and certain hope of the resurrection, family and friends are invited to join in the Mass of Christian Burial, commending Jim to the Lord, and to praise God at St. Mary's Church, 108 McHenry St., Burlington, on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 7 p.m. Prior to Mass a visitation will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, on Thursday, from 3 until 6 p.m. Private burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes the family is accepting memorials so they may distribute them among Jim's favorite charities. Judy and the boys wish to extend their special thanks and prayers of gratitude to all those who shared so much joy with Jim over his "well almost" 64 years of life.
