Marilyn C. Szymanski, 74, of Pleasant Prairie, died Wednesday Feb. 2, 2005 at United Hospital Systems, Kenosha campus following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born April 17, 1930 in Wheatland, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Leo Frank and Florence Ann (Richter) Robers.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha County, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

On May 14, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, she married Peter Szymanski.

Following her marriage, she was employed with the Simmons Company. After raising her family, she was employed with the American State Bank and First Bank South East, receiving the teller of the month award numerous times. She loved her work and was extremely well versed in financial matters.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the PLAV Women's Auxiliary. An avid reader, she enjoyed ceramics and numerous arts and crafts projects.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Szymanski of Pleasant Prairie,; two sons, Peter (Kathryn) Szymanski of Stratford, Conn. and Robert Szymanski of Pleasant Prairie; two daughters, Patricia (Douglas) Moore of Kenosha and Nancy (Wallace "Chip") Shilkus of Mundelein, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Hasselman and Jeanette Koehne, both of Kenosha; a sister-in-law, Mary Robers of Kenosha, and five grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Nicholas, Gabrielle and Dylan.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Hart and two brothers, Kenneth Robers and Joseph in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 9:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Avenue.

A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 4 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online Condolences at www.piasecki-althaus.com.
