Earl B. Koehne, 78, of 6408 60th Ave., died Saturday (April 4, 1998) at his home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Little Suamico, to the late Fred and Hattie (Hebert) Koehne.
He moved to Kenosha in 1940 after attending schools in Oconto Falls.
On April 18, 1945, he married Jeanette Robers at St. Thomas Aquinas Rectory in Kenosha.
He was employed at American Brass and later at Johnson Motors in Waukegan, Ill., where he also worked for 30 years.
He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the 379th Engineers Division.
He also was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Junker-Ball Post 1865. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and also was an avid gardener and fruit tree grower.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Don of Kenosha; a sister, Beatrice Ferdon of Marinette; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Henry and Daniel, and four sisters, Vivian Bertrand, Fern Mathews, Marjorie Lauterback and Marian Eichman.
Piasecki-Althaus-Thulin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
KOEHNE - Funeral services for Mr. Earl B. Koehne will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at 10:45 a.m. from the Piascki-Althaus-Thulin Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Koehne will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Parish vigil service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Koehne is survived by his daughter-in-law Janice and his loving grandchildren Karolyn and Alex Earl Koehne. Memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
