Robert B. Aldrich, age 81, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born March 25, 1934 to Boyd and Lucile (nee Sodke) Aldrich in Burlington. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School. After graduation he served in the military from 1954-1956. On November 15, 1958 he was united in marriage to the late Darlene Richter at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster, WI. Following their marriage they resided in Burlington where they raised their family. Before retiring, Bob worked as an electrician for Rewald Electric. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, served on the St. Mary's Parish Council, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Mary's High School Athletic Association. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His summer highlight was the family's annual "Ribfest".
Bob is survived by his children: Tom (Julie) Aldrich, Jim (Julie) Aldrich, Jerry (Janice) Aldrich, Joe (Pam) Aldrich, Mike (Tina) Aldrich and Ann Aldrich, grandchildren: Megan, Erin, Lauren (Joe), Morgan, Ashlyn, Brooke (fiancé Dylan) Jenelle, Allie, Joe (Jody), Shanna (Andrew), Kelly, Nick, Robert, Lee, Ian, Bobby and Brianna. He is further survived by his sisters, Jean Reesman and Dory Frey, in-laws: Marge Kerr, Doris & Keith Esmond, Joanne Ross, Pat & Lee Vos and Rose & Dave Pfanzelter, many other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Bert & Lucille Richter, wife, Darlene, brother and sister in-laws: Paul Frey, Robert Reesman, Joe Kerr and Dale & Phyllis Richter.
In honor of Bob, the family has suggested memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Catholic Central High School. Bob's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Aurora at Home Hospice, Pam Luzinski and Mary Pieters for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 7:00PM at St. Mary Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 8 from 3:00PM until 6:15PM at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Cemetery.
