Eleanor M. Richter, 90, passed away in Burlington Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 27, 1996.
She was born in Burlington on December 16, 1905 to Albert and Minnie (nee: Jacobs) Ketterhagen. She spent her early 1ife in the Town of Wheatland and had been a lifetime resident of the Burlington area. On August 20, 1930, in St. Charles Church in Burlington, she was united in marriage to Leon Richter, who preceded her in death on November 17, 1975.
Eleanor received her education at St. Charles Grade School, Burlington High School and Union Grove Normal School. She was a Teacher and then a Homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church, a member and past President of Daughters of Isabella, a member of St. Ann's Society, and a member of Federated Burlington Women's Club. She was the Financial Secretary of Lady Forresters for 20 years. She was also a member of Burlington Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Gerald (Janice) Richter of Burlington; five grandchildren, Neal (Ann) Richter of Appleton, Jeffrey (Julie) Richter of Waukesha, Brian (Wendy) Richter of Gurnee, Ill., Nancy (John) Schmidt of Oak Creek, and Laurie (Chris) Miller of Burlington; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma McFarlane of East Troy; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Richter of New Munster and Dorothy Ketterhagen of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Carol Richter; her parents; four brothers, Leroy, Arthur, Werner, and Dr. A.J. Ketterhagen; two brothers-in-law, Bert Richter and Don McFarlane; three sisters-in-law, Lollie, Metta, and Margaret Ketterhagen.
Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on Monday, December 2, 1996, at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Benham officiating. Interment Will be at St. Charles Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. Memorials suggested to St. Charles Catholic Church.
