Francis (Butch) Schlax, 72, 7601 Ulmerton Road, Largo, Fla., formerly of Kenosha, died Jan. 28, at a Largo hospital of a heart attack.
He was born in Kenosha Aug. 6, 1906, the of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schlax.
In June 1927, at St. James Catholic Church in Kenosha, he married Louise Seidel.
He was manager of the Vogue Theatre from 1931 to 1939. He was appointed district manager Standard Theatres, Inc. for the Kenosha area when such names as the Gateway, Lincoln, Butterfly, Kenosha and Vogue were familiar theater names. He retired years ago and moved to Florida.
He was a member of St. James Church and the Elks Club while in Kenosha.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Robert F., Arlington Heights. Ill., two grandchildren; a brother, Leslie J., Kenosha, and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Peterson, Minnetonka, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur.
