Lawrence A. Finlayson, 50, of 2030 E. 39th St., died unexpectedly in General Hospital Saturday afternoon of a heart condition.
He was a line foreman for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. since 1927, when he moved to Ashtabula.
He was a past governor of the Moose, past president of the Cancer Society and a member of the Ashtabula Toastmasters Club.
Born June 13, 1905, in Calumet County, Ont., Canada, Mr. Finlayson is survived by his wife, Myrtle; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Parobeck of Cleveland; two sons, Lawrence A. Jr. of New York and James of Ashtabula; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Roy Knoespel of Brillion, Wis.; two sisters, May Finlayson and Mrs. Pearl Skelly of Detroit and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Zabeck Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Vermeuien, pastor of East Side Presbyterian Church, officiating. Private interment will be made Wednesday in Saybrook Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Friends are requested to make contributions to the Cancer Fund.
