Carl F. "Jiggs" Richter, age 90, of 206 Cleveland Street, Brillion, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2006, at his home. He was born August 12, 1915, in Brillion, son of the late Ferdinand and Dena (Huls) Richter. On May 25, 1946, he married Helen Wunsch at Mountain, WI. Carl was in the U.S. Army, 32nd Division during World War II. He worked at the Ariens Company in Brillion and at the Brillion Iron Works until his retirement. He was a member of Peach UCC in Brillion, the VFW in Green Bay and the Brillion Conservation Club.
Carl is survived by his children; Carla Neuman and Friend Noel of Brillion; Cheri (Dale) Nies of Brillion, Carrie (Jeff) Krueger of Potter; Charles Richter of Brillion; and Michael (Coreen) Richter of Sherwood; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Elenore Strong of Shawano.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, on February 16, 1993, and also five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6 at Peace United Church of Christ in Brillion with Dr. Rev. Cathey Rennick officiating. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 5 and then at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
