Ralph R. Koester, 57, 3037 Stelzer Road, Carthagena, died on Saturday, November 25, at his residence in Celina. He had been ill for seven years with Parkinson's Disease.
He was born on January 2, 1938, to Ted and Hilda (Hoelscher) Koester; his mother survives in Carthagena. On January 24, 1959, he married Edna Kramer who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jacqueline McDowell, Celina, Alan and his wife Angela Koester, Macedon, and Angela and Ron Brunswick, Celina; two brothers and their wives, Charles and Anna Koester, Coldwater, and James and Linda Koester, Celina, three sisters and their husbands, Al and Donna Hart and John and Pat Jansen, all of Celina, and Dick and Mary Franck, St Henry, a sister-in-law, Edna Koester, St Henry, and nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son. Jay, and a brother, John.
Koester was retired from White New Idea in Coldwater. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena, the men's sodality of the church, the Coldwater Knights of Columbus, Coldwater American Legion, and the Coldwater Eagles.
Services were held on Tuesday, November 28, at St. Aloysius Church, Rev. David Hoying officiating.
Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, handled the arrangements.
