Louis L. Heitkamp, 73, 271 S. Sycamore Street, St. Henry, Ohio, died at 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2010 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on April 12, 1937 in St. Henry, Ohio, to Raymond and Hilda (Schulte) Heitkamp.
He married Thelma Kramer on February 8, 1958 in Burkettsville, Ohio, and she survives in St. Henry, Ohio.
He is also survived by four daughters and spouses: Chris and Mark Tobin, Montezuma, Ohio; Diane and Jerry Puthoff, St. Henry, Ohio; Angela and Bob Hunt, Sycamore, Illinois; Karla and Dan Dysert, Minster, Ohio; two sons and spouses; Randy and Susan Heitkamp, New Bremen, Ohio; Ray and Jenny Heitkamp, St. Henry, Ohio; two sons, Roger Heitkamp, Fairfield, Ohio; Ron Heitkamp, Celina, Olio; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters and spouses: Mary Alice and Julius Ahrns, Maria Stein, Ohio; Rose Ann and Ivo Schmidt, Coldwater, Ohio; Dorothy and Art Brunswick, Beavercreek, Ohio; Charlene and Don Mikesell, Greenville, Ohio; two brothers and spouses: Ivo and Millie Heitkamp, St. Henry, Ohio; Alvin and Linda Heitkamp, Coldwater, Ohio; two sisters: Joan Reigelsperger, Coldwater, Ohio; Ruth Frantz, Kettering, Ohio; one brother, Dan Heitkamp, Kettering, Ohio; and one brother-in-law, Ken Kessen, Coldwater, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Lavern Heitkamp and David Heitkamp; one sister, Lucille Kessen; and one brother-in-law, Louis Reigelsperger.
He retired from Hemmelgarn's Inc, Philothea, Ohio. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, Ohio, and a social member of Coldwater V.F.W., Coldwater, Ohio.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, Ohio, with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial followed in St. Henry Cemetery, St. Henry, Ohio. Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, Ohio, had charge of arrangements.
