Chancel Lee Mixdorf, 71, of Dunkerton, died Friday, Jan. 15, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of heart failure.
He was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Waterloo, son of Arthur Andrew and Vallie Marie Tribon Mixdorf. He married Adeline Mae Duea Oct. 17, 1946, in Fort Dix, N.J.
Mr. Mixdorf was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by Lewis Motor and Schoitz Engineering in Waterloo before retiring in 1988.
Survived by: his wife a daughter, Monica Zabel of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Mark of Dunkerton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David of Dewar and Daniel of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: an infant brother, Francis.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Bennington Township, rural Waterloo, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Peter-Kress American Legion Post 636 of Dunkerton. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where the family will be present until 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
