David Arthur Mixdorf, 86, of Dewar, died Tuesday, May 5, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.
He was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Arthur and Vallie Tribon Mixdorf. On June 27, 1948, he married Phyllis Demmel at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington Township.
A graduate of Dunkerton High School, David had farmed in the Dunkerton area for many years. After retiring from the farm in 1980, he worked at Kavalier Implements as a parts specialist until 1996.
Survived by: his wife; three sons, Jimmy (Kathy) of Waterloo, Jerry (Kathryn) of Dunkerton and Johnny (Deb) of Janesville; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Zach) McFarland, and Steven, Scott and Bethany Mixdorf; and eight great-grandchildren, Jared, Bryson and Connor McFarland, and Marissa, Matthew, Mason, Max and Miley Mixdorf.
Preceded in death by: his parents; and three brothers, Chancel, Daniel, and Francis in infancy.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington Township, where visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with burial in the church cemetery. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

David enjoyed tractor shows, camping, NASCAR, and spending time with his family.
