Wacille Satterlee Wed In Maryland
Sidney Pedersen, son of Chas. Pedersen of Pocahontas, and Wacille Satterlee, daughter of Mrs. George Wellendorf, were united in marriage Wednesday, September 25 at Elkton, Md., at 3:30 in the Presbyterian parsonage. The witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Mackelvane, cousins of the bride.
The bride was attired in a maroon crepe dress with harmonizing accessories.
Immeriately after the ceremony they returned to the home of the bride's aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Alcorn in Philadelphia where a lovely wedding dinner was served. After a short honeymoon trip in the east they returned to Ida Grove Monday night, where they will reside.
The bride has lived all her life in this community, and received her education in the public schools. The bridegroom is the youngest son Of Chas. Pedersen. He graduated from Battle Creek high school and attended junior college at Sheldon one year. The past two years he has been employed at the Feddersen Service Station in this city.

SIDNEY W. PEDERSEN May 23, 1915 - September 9, 1998
Sidney W. Pedersen, 83, Pocahontas, died Wednesday, September 9, 1998, at the Fonda Care Center, Fonda.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 10 at Powers Funeral Home, Pocahontas, with Rev. Milton Jensen officiating. Burial was at Summit Hill Cemetery, Pocahontas.
Survivors include wife, Elnora Pedersen, Pocahontas; step-son, Marvin (Judy) Taylor, Pocahontas; step-daughter, Mary (Danny) Flaherty, Pocahontas; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elva; and three brothers, Homer, Clarence, and Glenn Pedersen.
Sidney Waive Pedersen was born May 23, 1915 at Battle Creek. He was the son of Carl and Mabel (Pierce) Pedersen. He graduated from Battle Creek High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 where he served in the South Pacific during WWII. In 1948 Sidney married Elva Cassen at Fort Dodge. The couple settled in the Pocahontas area where he farmed. He also worked as a mail carrier and for the ready mix before retiring. Elva died in 1979. In 1980 he married Elnora Taylor at Pocahontas where the couple settled.
Sidney was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed playing cards, working cross word puzzles, playing pool, and wintering in Arizona.
