Kenneth Lyle Satterlee, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center in Waterloo.
He was born February 17, 1915 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Florance (Hall) Satterlee. Ken married Marjorie M. Bottine on February 15, 1937 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on January 15, 1998.
Ken served in the Iowa National Guard prior to WW II and worked for John Deere & Company in Waterloo for forty-two years, retiring on May 27, 1977 as Divisional Superintendent. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge.
Survived by: a son, Michael (Melodie) Satterlee, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Merrian Back of Evansdale and Terrie (Rafael) Esquivel of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Kemp, of Waterloo, and a daughter-in-law, Janice Satterlee, of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his parents and wife; a son, LeRoy Satterlee; a great grandchild, and a brother, Robert Satterlee.
Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, followed by a graveside committal service at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.
