Robert L. Satterlee, 79, of 1111 Byron Ave., died Monday, May 31, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.
He was born April 3, 1920, in Independence, son of Lyle and Florence Hall Satterlee. He married Maxine Pink on July 15, 1941, in Maquoketa. She died Sept. 13, 1998.
Mr. Satterlee worked for John Deere for 42 years, retiring in 1983 as night superintendent. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II in the Pacific.
Survived by: four daughters, Roberta Cronan, Becky Dumler, Nancy Satterlee and Becky Harris, all of Waterloo; three sons, Bob and Ron, both of Waterloo, and Dick of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Mary Kemp of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by: a grandson.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
