LeRoy K Satterlee, 70, of Waterloo, died at his home Thursday, May 3.
He was born April 22, 1937, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth and Marjorie Bottine Satterlee. He married Janice Francis on March 30, 1957, in Waterloo.
He was a design engineer with John Deere & Co. in Waterloo for 31 years, retiring in 1986. Later, he was employed as a model airplane designer with SIG Manufacturing in Montezuma. LeRoy also worked as a golf course equipment designer with Diedrichs & Associates Manufacturing in Cedar Falls He also submitted several articles for publication to model airplane magazines. LeRoy was a member of Harley Owner's Group (HOG) and the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
Survived by: his wife, Janice of Waterloo; four sons, Brian (Ann) of
Waterloo, Lance of Cedar Falls, Scott (Joyce) of Evansdale and Wayne (Lacey) of Dunkerton; a daughter, Tracy (Randy) Clark of Marion; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild: his father, Kenneth Satterlee of Cedar Falls; a brother, Michael (Melody) of Evansdale; and two sisters, Merrian Back and Terrie (Raphael) Esqueval, both of Evansdale.
Preceded in death by: his mother.
Services: 10:30 am Monday at Bethany Bible Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 5 to 8 pm today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
