Martha A Griffith, 88, a homemaker of Idaho Falls, died Aug. 2, 1995, of cancer in the Salt Lake City LDS Hospital.
She was born March 3, 1907, at Ossian, Ind., to Willis and Gertrude Melching. She was raised in Ossian, played violin in the local orchestra and graduated from Ossian High School on April 4, 1925. Following graduation, she worked at the General Electric Company in Fort Wayne, Ind., for several years.
She married Oden Ross Griffith on Dec. 21, 1929. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church and was also a long-time member of the White Shrine, Daughters of the Nile and Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband moved to Idaho Falls in 1974. They both enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Arizona. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean A. Sutton of Idaho Falls; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and a son.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Buck-Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Fogartie officiating. Family will visit with friends for an hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
