Alyce Irene Reid, 93, of Waterloo, died Monday, Oct. 24, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Black Hawk County,k daughter of Leonard and Clara Hausman Condon. She married Robert E. Reid on July 5, 1947, in Waterloo. He died Feb. 1, 1996.
Survived by: two daughters, Lynne (Robin) Findley of Bellingham, Wash., and Ellen (Craig) Cutting of Decorah; two sons, William of Waterloo and Jeffrey of Iowa City; six grandchildren, Silas Findley, Leslie Elsbernd, Kyle Cutting, Kendra Cutting, Paul Cutting and Samuel Reid; seven great-grandchildren, Tenzin, Bodhi, Elodie, Claire, Marian, Alyce and Landon; and a sister, Ramona Schmidt of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: a sister, Mary Katherine Blotter; and a brother, Robert Condon.
Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at St. Edward's Catholic Church with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and also a 7 p.m. rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Alyce was an avid reader, politically active, a devout Catholic and a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. She was proud to live in Waterloo and shared her abundance of love with everyone she met.
