CEDAR FALLS
Miriam E. Renz, 89, passed away on October l, 1999, in Tucson, Ariz. She was born and raised in Iowa. She lived in Tucson for 31 years and moved back to Cedar Falls and lived two years at Windgrace Retirement Home in Cedar Falls. She belonged to the Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson and had worked at the Tucson Public Library. She was involved in many organizations including the Presbyterian Women, AAUW, League of Women Voters, Tucson Girls' Club and P.E.O. While a resident of Cedar Falls, Miriam belonged to Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, Chapter OJ of P.E.O. and the Cedar Falls Women's Club. Miriam was known by family and friends for her outlook on life and positive attitude. Her supportive and loving nature was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Cheryl Renz; grandchildren, Marlene, Mitchell and Joshua; a daughter, Maureen Esch, and son-in-law, Leroy Brimager; grandson, Martin Esch and his wife, Monica; brother, Mark Yaggy and his wife, Gwen, and niece, Gayle; sister, Marcia Meyer and her husband, John, and niece and nephews, Joel, Elizabeth, William and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, in 1962.
A memorial service was held in Tucson, October 5, 1999, and a memorial service will be held at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, 2015 Rainbow Drive, Cedar Falls, on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Cedar Valley Hospice or Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.
