Joyce B. Trumbauer, 99 passed away August 2, 2015 at Greenleaf Healthcare Center. She was born September 27, 1915 in Butler County, PA to the late Forest H. & Mary Lena Burtner. On April 26, 1945 in Butler County, PA she married Rev. Clyde A. Trumbauer, he preceded her in death on January 6, 2014. She was also preceded in death by 5 sisters and 7 brothers. Surviving are 2 daughters Donna (Christian) Losch of Elkhart, Rhonda (Lanie) Creech of Roanoke, IN, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, and 4 brothers. Joyce graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and went on to teach in Butler County, PA and in Indiana as well. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Loreta Gruver Circle of the Calvary United Methodist Church. She found life to be fulfilling as the wife of a U.S. Navy chaplain/United Methodist pastor. Together they enjoyed serving local congregations and going on church sponsored work camps. Among their many interests were camping, hiking, backpacking, and bird watching. She was a quiet and gentle woman who was beloved by her family and friends alike. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Calvary United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., and will be officiated by Reverend Larry Smith, with visitation 1 hour prior. Cremation has already taken place and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to Calvary United Methodist Church, 2222 W. Indiana Ave., Elkhart, 46516, or Mission Aviation Fellowship, the Boggs Airplane Fund, PO Box 47, Nampa, ID, 83653. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
