Josephine Ogden was born in Rock Valley. Iowa On April 6. 1888, the daughter of John and Mary Richter. She spent her childhood on a farm near Rock Valley.
In 1909 she was united in marriage to Clarence Franklin Ogden at Rock Valley. They lived on a farm near St. Joseph, Missouri from that time until 1915 when they moved to Lennox where her husband was section foreman on the Milwaukee Railroad. In 1926 they moved to Horicon, Wisconsin, returning to Lennox in 1930. Mr. Ogden passed away here in 1955. Mrs. Ogden continued to maintain her home here until 1967 when she moved to the Lennox Good Samaritan Center.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Ogden was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret and Pearl, and one son, Clarence. She was the last surviving member of her family Of seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons: Herman of Milwaukee. Wisc., and Lawrence of Lennox; two daughters: Sister Mary Veronica of Aberdeen and Mrs. Larry (Catherine) Ideker of Sioux Falls; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ogden passed away at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on February 19, 1970, following an illness of approximately three years. She attained the age of 81 years, 10 months and 13 days.
