LLOYD K. LEARY

LLOYD K. LEARY, 91, of Freeport died Monday May 10, 1999 at Stephenson Nursing Center. Born December 23, 1907 at Jesup, Iowa, he was a son of Charles and Beulah (Trumbauer) Leary. He and Ruth Woessner were married March 4, 1933 at Shannon. He owned and operated the family farm since 1933. His memberships included Elks Lodge 617 and the former Germania Club. Surviving are his son, Gerald and Patricia Leary of Freeport; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Leary of Freeport; one brother, Robert Leary of Oelwein, Iowa; two sisters, Gwendolyn Baldwin of Jesup, Iowa and Ramona Forney of Venia, Virginia; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife on October 3, 1968, one son, Wallace Leary, and one brother. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Elks Lodge.
