Agnes Moe Leary, of Jesup, died Monday, Feb. 4, at Stevens Square Care Center, Minneapolis, of natural causes.
She was born April 19, 1908, in Sioux Rapids, daughter of Albert O. and Anna Marie Hanson Moe. She married Robert S. Leary on April 8, 1933, in Rockford. Ill.
A 1927 graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Mrs. Leary taught seventh grade mathematics and civics in the Jesup Community Schools from 1927 to 1933. She served as junior high principal from 1929 to 1933.
Mrs. Leary and her husband farmed briefly near Dunkerton and then moved to the Jesup area where they farmed for 58 years, retiring in 1991. She was a charter member of the Rural Women's Study Club.
Survived by: her husband; two sons, Roger of Richfield. Minn., and Rolfe of Falcon Heights, Minn.; a daughter, Rhoda Latting of Pasadena, Calif.; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Alvin; and an infant brother.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at American Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery, both in Jesup. Friends may call after 2 pm. Friday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
