Donald W. Butler, 56, 39601 60th St., Slades Corners, died Sunday (May 19, 1985) at Memorial Hospital, Burlington.
He was born June 13, 1928 in Racine.
After spending his early life in Sparta, he attended school in Spring Green.
On May 5, 1951, he married Ella Mae Kerkman at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster. She survives him.
Following their marriage, they lived in Madison for 10 years and then moved to Slades Corners.
He owned and operated Butler Embers Tavern in Slades Corners.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Twin Lakes, the church choir, Kenosha County Tavern League, Tavern Hosts of Wisconsin, Wheatland Recreation Board, Kenosha Achievement Center Board, Twin Lakes Knights of Columbus, the county's Civil Service Commission and the Kenosha County Crime Stoppers Board.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, James and Jeffrey, both of the Town of Wheatland; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Wagner and Jill Butler, both of Burlington, Mrs. George (Joanne) Grady, Powers Lake, and Mrs. Dennis (Janet) Elfering, Brighton; seven grandchildren; a brother, James, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. LaVerne Thering, Plain; and a foster parent, Mrs. Leo Barry, Oregon, Wis.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Julie.
The Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements.
BUTLER-Funeral services for the late Donald W. Butler, a resident of Slades Corners, who passed away May l9th, will be held on Wed., 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Catholic Church, Twin Lakes, Interment at St. John's Cemetery, Twin Lakes. Friends may call at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 157 S. Pine St., Burlington from 4-9 P.M. on Tues. Parish prayer vigil Tues. evening at 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
