Cordella Mary May, 93, passed away Sunday, September 21, 1997, at Sarina's Supportive Care, Lake Geneva.
She was born April 20, 1904, in Burlington to Ben and Anna (nee: Busch) Ketterhagen. She spent her early life in Burlington, resided in Spring Prairie Township after marriage and was a resident of Burlington since 1961. On February 10, 1926, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington, she was united in marriage to William T. May, who preceded her in death on September 10, 1993.
She was a Homemaker. She went to St. Mary's Grade School, Burlington. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Burlington, and the Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are three sons, Robert (Carole) May of Lake Geneva, Ralph (Dorothy) May, and Cletus (Marge) May, both of Burlington; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Daniels of Burlington; three brothers, Cy (Zita) Ketterhagen, Roman (Verena) Ketterhagen, and James (Bernice) Ketterhagen, all of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ketterhagen of Burlington and Ursula Ketterhagen of Salem; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant grandson, Daniel; brothers, Clarence, Roland and Ralph; and sisters, Mabel Wieners and Lorraine Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, Burlington, with Rev. Kim Studwell O.F.M. officating on Thursday, September 25, 1997, at 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 until 6:15 p.m. Memorials have been suggested to St. Charles School.
