Joan M. Wieners, 72, formerly of Burlington, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital.
Joan was born on October 5, 1934, in Racine, to Theodore and Catherine (nee: Lewis) Drettwan. In March of 1952, she was united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Heim to Paul Wieners. She lost him to lymphoma in June of 1974.
Joan retired from Ross Laboratories in 1997. She was a Watercolor Artist and an avid reader of a wide variety of literature. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, and traveling. Joan truly loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Kathleen Oliff of Grove City, Ohio, Gary (Cindy) Winners of Seminole, Fla., and Michael (Zona) Wieners of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kathy Lynn McCutchen of Columbus, Ohio, Teresa Lowry of Grove City, Ohio, and Cassey and Jessey Winners of Seminole, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, who were very special to her, Trevor Oliff of Columbus, Ohio, Angela McCutchen of Columbus, Ohio, and Mckenzie Naguit of Grove City, Ohio; a brother, Theodore Drettwan of Burlington; and a sister, Carol (Randy) Rogers of Jefferson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Paul.
A Funeral service will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Thielen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m.
