Dorothy Mae Meyers, 80, of Brighton, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born July 14, 1935, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert and Loraine (nee Ketterhagen) Warren. She spent her early life in the Brighton area, attended St. Charles Grade School and graduated from St. Mary High School.
On Jan. 4, 1958, at St. Charles Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Robert James Meyers. Following marriage they made their home in Brighton where they raised their family. Robert preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1973.
Dorothy worked at Marino's Restaurant for 27 years as a waitress and was a member of St. Alphonsus Church. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed every moment she could spend with her family. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, sewing, gardening and cooking and was a very spirited game player when playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her spouse, Bill Sachse; children, Debbi (Jeff) Osmolak, Chery (Jack) Caliva, Cindi (Bret) Bauman and Gary (Mary) Meyers; grandchildren, Ryan Osmolak, Megan (Kellen) Beauchesne, Rachel Osmolak, Ethan Caliva, Dylan (Rachel) Caliva, Alyssa Caliva, Brittany (Matthew) Kukowski, Stephanie Bauman, Robert Meyers, Austin Meyers, Lindsay Meyers and great grandchild, Reina Beauchesne. She was also survived by her siblings, Robert Warren, Joyce (Jerry) Poepping, Jerry (Mary) Warren and Bill (Audrey) Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Tom Warren and sister-in-law, Judy Warren.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Parkinson's Research.
The family would like to thank St. Luke's nursing staff, Aurora at Home Hospice staff, Dr. Haider, Dr. Nausieda and the staff at Geneva Lake Manor for all their care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at 9 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. Terry Langley officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
