Age 92. Passed away on December 12, 1991 at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged. She was born on August 11, 1899 in Brighton Township (Kenosha County) to Theodore Richter and Elizabeth Vos. He had been a Kenosha resident and attended Kenosha County schools. On February 7, 1923 she was united in marriage to Sylvester H. Epping at St. Charles Catholic Church, Burlington, Wis. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Altar Society, Kenosha Senior Citizens, National Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Rita Court 1174, New Munster, Wis.
Survivors include her husband at St. Joseph's Home, four sons, Charles of Kenosha, Claude of Salem, Wis., Norman of Waunakee, Wis. and Dale of Kenosha; five daughters, Mrs. Richard D. (Esther) Schmidt of Waunakee, Wis., Mrs. Roger (Romayne) Zeihen of Waupaca, Wis., Mrs. Edward (Lillian) Roberts of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Leroy (Judith) Schmidt of Brookfield, Wis., Mrs. Mark (Barbara) Wisnefski of Kencsha; one brother, Elmer Richter of Burlington, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Robers of Burlington, Wis., Mrs. Celeste Fonk of Kenosha and Mrs. Irene Kelley of Burlington. Also surviving are 53 grandchildren and 78 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Eleanor) Robers, Mrs. Elmer D. (Marjorie) Ketterhagen, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services for the late Leona J. Epping will be held on Friday, December 13, 1991 with the celebration of Mass at 8 p.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 1991. Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church from 5 p.m. until the time of mass. Please omit flowers.
