BURLINGTON
Mr. Richard F. Foltz, 69, passed away at his residence on Friday, August 14, 1998.
He was born in Savannah, Ill., on June 21, 1929. son of Joseph and Gertrude (nee: Buenger) Foltz. His very early life was spent in various places in Illinois, however he has been a resident of the Burlington area since 1943. He married Rose Ann Schlitz on October 5, 1957. She preceded him in death on July 2, 1983. He was united in marriage with Annamarie Vogt Endl on October 11, 1986. She survives. He is a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School. He attended Valparaiso College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in 1951, with a Bachelor of Science, and from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
He was an attorney, practicing law first in Racine and for the past 32 years in Burlington, joining with Attorney Nettie Karcher and most recently with the firm Foltz, Ludwig, Dolatowski and Ludwig. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Racine County and Wisconsin Bar Association, Burlington Kiwanis Club, Ross-Wilcox American Legion Post #79. He served on the Burlington School Board, the Burlington Library Board. Burlington Memorial Hospital Foundation Board and Ethics Committee, a member of the Burlington Cemetery Board and served as attorney for the townships of Bloomfield and Burlington. He was a tutor for the Literacy Program, served on Building Committees for Our Savior and Peace Lutheran Churches. He helped found Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Annamarie; his children, Ann (Jeff) Robinson of Burlington, Dan (Sue Dimagno) Foltz of Chicago; stepchildren, David (Barbara) Endl of Jefferson, Peter (Roxann) Endl of Jefferson, Andy (Helen) Endl of Burlington and Mary Acketz of Burlington and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Bruce) Thompson of Waukesha and brothers-in-law, Wayne (Nancy) Schlitz and Richard (Debbie) Schlitz of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 1998, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1030 Wegge Road, with Rev. Robert Suhr officiating. Private inurnment will be at St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the church.
