RACINE

Wilfried Jacobi, 85, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 28, 2001.

He was born in Hanover Linden, Germany on March 18, 1916, son of the late William and Frieda Quindel Jacobi. On July 13, 1940 he was united in marriage to Jeanne M. Schulte. He had been a resident of Racine since 1947.

Wilfried attended Holy Cross Grade School and Roosevelt Senior High School in St. Louis, MO. During World War II, 1935-1941, he had served in the United States Navy as a First Class Machinist Mate and First Class Petty Officer. Wilfried had been employed with Styberg Engineering for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, the Elk's Lodge #252, and the American Legion Post 0310. During the late 1960's and early 1970's he managed Little League baseball and basketball teams for the YMCA and the C.Y.O. Wilfried was, most importantly, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed very much.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 61 years, Jeanne; six children, William (Lynn) Jacobi of Arizona; Mary (Richard) Daniels of Franksville, Susan Jacobi of Racine, Charles (Jeanne) Jacobi of Minnesota, James Jacobi of Michigan, and Catherine Jourdan of Minnesota; 37 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In additions to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Anthony Daniels.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 1430 Grove Avenue, on Friday, June 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Edward's Catholic Church or one's favorite charity have been suggested.
