Lawrence A. Soli, 83, formerly of Racine, passed away at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2000.
Larry was born in Racine on February 16, 1917, son of Charles A. and Agnes (nee: Kowalski) Soli. On November 27, 1942 he was united in marriage to Josephine C. Schulte.
He served his country in World War II as a Private First Class in the 128th Infantry and the 358th Infantry, and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in France after D-Day. He spent his work years as a Journeyman Carpenter, working for construction firms in Racine and Madison, before retiring in 1982. His favorite pastime was to golf at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Donald) Bauer of Prairie du Sac; a granddaughter, Aimee (Jeff) Miotke of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandsons, Tom (Sally) Bauer of Wausau, Tim (Nancy) Bauer of Lodi, Ted Bauer of Prairie du Sac, and Todd Bauer of Prairie du Sac; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Josephine; brother, Earl Soli; and a granddaughter, Tina Marie Bauer.
A Memorial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City on Friday, October 6, 2000, at 7 p.m. with Fr. William Seipp officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the Mass.
