Arthur Belmont Ellston Jr., 73, of Hagerman, died Thursday morning, April 30, 1998, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
Art was born on Jan 18, 1925, in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Arthur and Lyda Heising Ellston. Art grew up and attended schools In Rapid City and graduated from Dallas High School He married Anne Hellman in Seattle, Wash., in 1946. She passed away in 1975. Art was a heavy equipment operator for all of his working career, working for Peter Kewit & Sons. He also worked for Western Construction and retired in 1987. Art owned a farm in Jerome, where he lived for several years before moving to Hagerman. He married Christina Dold on Oct 23, 1976, in Jerome.
Art is survived by his wife, Christina Ellston of Hagerman one son, Phrederic "PH" (Cassandra) Dold of Reno, Nev.; three daughters, Ava (Scott) Montgomery of Portland, Ore., Iris Hinkle of Kansas City, Kan., and Sandy (Tim) Peterson of Hagerman; three brothers, Dean (Carol) Ellston of Sioux City, SD., Vern Ellston of Dallas, SD., and Charles Ellston, of Kelso, Wash.; four sisters, Bethen (Edward) Schmidt of Vashon, Wash., Gladys (James) Womeldors of Roundup, Mont., Dons Fryda of Oxford, Neb., and Pat (Paul) Determan of Gregory, S.D., and one uncle, Scott (Clara) Helsing of Warrenton, Va. Also surviving are three grandsons, Eddie Harrison of Wyoming, Graesyn Dold and Kenan Dold, both of Reno, Nev.; three granddaughters Kendel Peterson and Heidi Peterson, both of Hagerman, and Ashley Harrison of Portland, Ore. Art was preceded in death by his father in 1955 and his mother in 1991.
The funeral be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 1998, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls, with Fr. Brian Thom of Ascension Episcopal Church in Twin Falls officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
