J. W. Womeldorf

 

Jack Wayne Womeldorf, 40, of 1837 Ave. E, was killed Thursday in a car-pickup truck collision four miles southeast of Hardin.

He was born May 16, 1926, at Paxton, S.D., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Donald Womeldorf. He graduated from high school at Dallas, S.D.

After service with the U.S. Air Force during World War II, Mr. Womeldorf graduated from South State Teachers College in Springfield, S.D., in 1951.

He married Gladys Ellston at Urbana, Ill., April 27, 1946. He was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in South Dakota, Utah, Oklahoma and Texas before he transfered to Billings in 1960 as an employment assistant with the BIA.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Dallas and Billings First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are the widow and three sons, Jack Jr., John Michael and Jay Howard, all of the family home; two brothers, Wallace Norman Womeldorf of Gregory, S.D., and Virgil Womeldorf of Washington Springs, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. Alvin Edwards of Ainsworth, Neb.; and the mother, Mrs. Hazel Jackson of Dallas, S.D.

The body is at Dahl-Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Luther Powell will officiate and burial will be in Soldiers Section of Mountview Cemetery with military rites. Dahl-Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
