Lauri Anne Helsing, 17, daughter of Joseph S. and Mona J. (Torbert) Helsing, Box 151, Warrenton R.D. 6, Va., died Feb. 2, with injuries received in an automobile accident.

The service was Feb. 6 at St. Thomas United Methodist Church, Manassas, Va. Burial was in the Warrenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lauri Helsing Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Fauquier High School, 705 Waterloo Road, Warrenton, Va., 22186. The Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, was in charge of arrangements.

Lauri was born in Virginia.

She was a junior honor student at Fauquier High School, Warrenton, and was a member of the school's wind ensemble. She won numerous awards as a flutist in her school music program. A member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church, Manassas and of its Youth Group, and had spent three summers working in the United Methodist Ministries in Appalachian communities.

Lauri also is survived by a sister, Robin D. Helsing, and a brother, Joseph Scott Helsing Jr., both of Warrenton; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Helsing, Warrentown, and her maternal grandfather, Charles W. Bortner, Shrewsbury.
